This garden was designed and constructed by Masa & Associates of Portland, Oregon with financing from the Millenium Fund. It is a small garden is a pocket park tucked into the small space of a below-ground corner of the library building plus a stretch of stone and sand at the street's edge. The stone used in the garden was donated by a local quarry. It is maintained by the City of Lethbridge but is relatively utilitarian and is not professionally maintained. Trees (spruce) were planted in the summer of 1999 and ground cover remained to be added when I visited in September 2000. If you visit Lethbridge, be sure not to miss the Nikka Yuko garden located just a few minutes drive from the library.
