Carpentry: A New Kawara Roof Issue: Jan/Feb 2003 (31) Pages: pp 8-11 Author: John Hall Last Updated: 2/8/2003 Description: Describes the process of restoring ceramic roof tiles (kawara) to the Pavilion in the Portland Japanese Garden. The work was performed by CC and L Roofing in Portland and involved fixing leaks, redesigning the tile layout, installation of snow hooks and other modifications to adapt the roof to the local climate.
